Hi guys, Welcome to my Homepage!!!

Hi guys, I’m Van Chung! I am pursuing my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at the University of Nevada, Reno, and my minor in Control & Robotics. I’m a part of the Advanced Robotics and Automation (ARA) Laboratory under the supervision of Professor Hung (Jim) La. Before my Ph.D., I received my B.S. in Control Engineering & Automation from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) in 2023. My current research focuses on motion planning and control theory for autonomous aerial robots & bridge inspection robots. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more potential research collaboration!

Research Interests

  • Optimization: Developing and applying advanced optimization techniques to enhance the performance and efficiency of autonomous systems in dynamic and uncertain environments.
  • Motion Planning: Designing computationally efficient planning algorithms that enable robots to navigate and avoid obstacles in dynamic environments, ensuring safety and reliability.
  • Nonlinear Robust Control: Focusing on the stability and robustness of control systems, particularly in nonlinear environments, to maintain performance despite uncertainties and disturbances.
  • Inspection robots: Innovating in the design and implementation of inspection robots, with a particular emphasis on the Cube-drone, to perform complex inspection tasks in challenging environments.
